The ocean is what my whole life revolves around.

As the owner and operator of Cape Hatteras Surf School (CHSS), I make surfing—and sharing the thrill of the ride—my number one priority. With 27 years of surfing experience, I love nothing more than introducing newcomers to the sport and sharing my deep-seated passion for the sea.

A Lifetime of Experience

My journey began at age 13, when I learned the art of surf instruction from retired professional surfers Reece and Casey Patterson. Twenty years and thousands of lessons later, I am just as excited to get in the water as I was on day one.

Global Knowledge, Local Safety

I have traveled the globe chasing waves—from the tropical breaks of Central Americaand the Caribbean to the rugged coasts of Africa and across the United States. These international travels taught me how to read any ocean condition, ensuring that your lesson is as safe and smart as it is fun.
